What a challenge!!  The fourth month is coming up and the honeymoon phase is gone. Feedback has gone from, “Your outfit looks good” and “You played well with the kids” to “Where do your insecurities come from?” or “Where does your pride come from?”  We are all the same to the Lord. Each person on my team comes from a different background, facing challenges and situations that affect each of us in different ways. These are the things that the world sees “the sin on each of us”.
Now we are with a group of people that are trying to see us through Gods eyes “the true light that people are”. The challenge in this community is trying to love each other the way God loves us, and help each other remove the sin that the world has put on us so we can become a brighter light for the Lord. This is not easy when we are still learning to see the light in people, not the sin, but only gets better as our own relationship with the Lord increases.
When you can encourage someone to address the “baggage” in their life from that place of love you can help them get rid of it. The devil is always trying to keep us looking at the sin not the light, which is easy to do because the flesh is of sin.  It is harder to see God’s light in people without a conscious effort day-in and day-out. While trying to build each other in the light we need grace and forgiveness from people for the times that we say things from a position of anger or frustration.
I believe that telling people things that the Lord has laid on your heart for them is important. If we think it is coming from Him we should have no worries about doing it because we are only the messenger, not the writer of the message. I also think that we can work on the way we say things to people – as in better methods of relaying the information – so it can be received better but still relaying the same message. When we get to that point in our own relationship with the Lord, what others think of us is obsolete.
