Greetings from the middle of nowhere near Matamoras, Mexico. Pending the arrival of Ryan tomorrow our team
will be complete just in time to race south to Palenque on Friday. Brooke & Christy and Silas switched to
the June World Race leaving us a couple girls short and leaving the SALT team
short one guy. So after a couple days
praying we asked Brienna to join us and Andrew felt led to join the SALT
team. Each team now has two guys. There’s more than just flexibility among
these World Racers- there is selflessness and servant-hearts.
We have a couple more days here at the AIM Base- the
Gateway- where Serena and Mary Beth from the AIM Office and Chad & Casey
from the 06 World Race are pouring into us in preparation for the first leg of
the Race. We will depart this area via
public transportation (BUS) for a LONG ride across country on Friday. We should arrive in Palenque (near the Guatemalan border) on
Saturday where we will be met by more AIM Office Staff for more training.
This is an exciting time for us. There is anxiety; but it’s the kind of
anxiety you see in a thoroughbred race horse standing at the starting
gate. There’s confidence; but our confidence
is in God more than self or our teammates.
I’m glad I’m spending a year with this team and with all of the World
Racers. And I’m glad you’re following me
around the world through this blog and I’m glad you’re praying for me. Thank You for holding the rope.
