Goodbye Aguilar. We
left town this morning. Kids were
walking to school- most of them waved goodbye.
We had a fiesta at the church last night. Pastors Samuel and Francisco unexpectedly
showed up with Morgan’s Team. We thought
we were serving snacks and Carne Asada (steak) along with a Piñata for the
children… but it turns out that the steak was for US after the fiesta. So we served soft drinks, popcorn and cookies
with the Piñata. Francisco spoke for the
church service. Ryan and I from the 2nd
story windows to secure and operate the Piñata.
Our whole group sang some songs.

It was fun, but a little stressful. Our plans changed every few minutes due to
the difficulty in communicating.

But it was a great send-off.
I had wondered the whole time we were there if anyone really knew who we
were and what we were doing! Thanks to
Amanda’s translating for Pastor Javier, it seems apparent that they did
know. The church prayed for us knowing
that we will continue to travel around the world for the next 10 months.

Our team is in Palenque
in a hotel for the night. We will
camp-out at Samuel’s place near the river (like a Park- where the Baptisms took
place) for the next two nights before racing to Guatemala
on Sunday. We should have an opportunity
to access the internet right after the race leg and then our ministry will
begin. We will be in Guatemala
until about the end of the first week in March before going on to Nicaragua
for a week of debriefing and training by the AIM Staff.

Enjoy the closing shot from beautiful Aguilar. (The dogs aren’t dead by the way; just sleeping)
