Are we having fun yet? Bad weather in Dallas-
all over Texas actually. Just as I arrived at my Continental gate I
was informed that ALL Continental flights for the night were cancelled. I decided on the spot to rent a car and drive
to Houston where I could catch a connector
to Harlingen in the morning. But then I heard a rumor that Southwest was
still flying. I called them as I was
hiking through the terminal and booked a direct flight to Harlingen. Then I recovered my luggage from Continental
and secured a refund from them (woohoo!).
I’ve been sitting at the Southwest gate for about 2 hours now and just
found out my flight is . . . you guessed it . . . cancelled. I’m on standby. I am wondering how this weather will affect
the rest of the team coming from all over the country and I’m thinking I should
look for a dark corner where I can lie down. My patience is amazingly intact. I’m in the same boat as a few hundred other
campers. Flexibility my friends.
