It’s Tuesday, May 29 and I’m enjoying my third day at the
Meerhof Lodge Bed & Breakfast outside of Pretoria. I came out of the bush last Friday after
suffering two kidney stone attacks last week.
I saw a doctor Saturday morning and he prescribed some medicines and
vast amounts of water to help pass the stone.
So far, I don’t know if that or the healing prayers worked but I haven’t
had any pain since.
I’ve enjoyed my time off but it is really difficult knowing
the teams are still in the bush. One
group is ministering with orphans, one group is working on construction
projects at a mission base, and two teams are in bush villages working with
churches. They are all living in
tents. Some of them are cooking over
open fires. For awhile two teams had a
Chef cooking for them at night (Snapper, Shrimp, fresh Barracuda, Steak…yeah,
somebody’s got to do it!) They should be
leaving Vilanculos on a rented bus Thursday morning and driving straight thru
to Manzini, Swaziland. I’m hoping to be there when they arrive.
I didn’t take many pictures in Mozambique. None of us did. Our advance briefing had us concerned for the
security of our gear so we left a lot of non-essentials in South
Africa plus our internet access was
non-existent in the bush. I have some video
of the children dancing and singing and a lot of audio of the singing. I’ll put a slide show/video together after I
can swipe some pictures that Ryan and Tim took.
