We arrived in Palenque, MX after a 30 hour bus ride from Matamoros late last night. Almost ALL of the Team A guys and some of the Media Team guys stayed in ONE room in the hotel. We were up at 7:00ish this morning for the sprint to the top of the highest temple at the Palenque Maya Ruins. It was stunning! Our team (Hupomone) came in 3rd. In additon to reaching the peak as a team, we also had to interview a local enroute and find 3 people to pray for. Our interview was with a lady in Matamoros that literally walked us from the town square to the bus station (Did I mention we did this with our 50 pound backpacks over about a mile long walk?)
We prayed for a homeless woman in Villahermosa and I´m not sure who the other two were. Someone else will blog about that. Maybe the team will count praying for me since I´ve been down with some stomach problems today and during the bus ride.
The ruins were awesome. I´m sure the Media Team will get some pics up before I can. I crawled into a dark (VERY DARK) space inside one of the 1300 year old residences and fell into a pit. It was probably an ancient garbage pit…but it´s more fun to think it was a tomb!!
We are still in town right now but will move to the outskirts in a little while where will stay at least for this week of training at a nearby Bible School.
Keep praying… it´s only just begun!
