It’s December 24th and I’m sitting outside in shorts with beads of sweat on my head. I never imagined I’d be spending Christmas in Africa but here I am. Unfortunately home for me this year is not North Carolina. Home for me is right here in Malawi with the teammates I have come to love so dearly. We will be staying on Lake Malawi for the next three days and we are more than excited.
We have had a busy month thus far in Lilongwe. We have traveled to many villages teaching the Gospel and encouraging fellow believers we have met along the way. We have been to many churches where we dance, sing and praise the Lord together. Just this week we were able to help provide a roof for a church that Harvesters Ministries planted this month. We have been having an amazing time and the Lord has been with us every step of the way.
On the first of January we will be leaving our teams to do what we call “MANistry.” All of the guys will be forming one team to do ministry in the southern part of Malawi and the girls will be put into 5 new teams together and divided amongst our current hosts. I am very excited for this. As much as I do not wish to leave my team, I greatly desire to grow spiritually with all of the men on the squad.
I truly miss everyone at home and it is hard not being there with you. BUT please know as much as I would love to be home I would much rather be where the Lord desires. HE is good and HIS plans are far more important than mine.
Please continue to pray for us as many of us do miss our families.
Pray for the coming changes, that they would go smoothly and allow us to grow closer as a squad and closer to our Savior.
Pray that we would surrender everything we are to HIM and desire HIM more than anything else.
Once again, I cannot express how thankful I am for everyone back home. Your continual prayer and support has encouraged me in more ways than you may ever know. So, I say it again, thank you.
GOD IS GOOD
