It was shortly after worship one night when I was walking back to the campsite and I found out there were several people from my squad going to play soccer. I was a little hesitant at first because it rained almost nonstop for the past couple of days and I knew the field would be drenched, but I got over it. We ended up playing people from another squad, and as the game went on, we were constantly slipping, sliding, and taking hard falls into one another as we tried our best to keep our footing on the wet field. It was not until towards the end of the match, one of our teammates got hurt. We could easily tell she was distressed as she attempted to walk off the pain. We decided to call it quits at that point as we had lost our motivation to keep playing having an injured teammate. As the opposing players slowly left and dispersed back to their campsites, our team took a moment to sit down with our hurt teammate. It wasn't too long after we sat down, a girl from our squad suggested we pray over our teammate's injury. We took a few a moments and just prayed over her to have God heal and take away the pain.
Before training camp, I have never experienced something like this before. I know this was a very simple, short story of a time at training camp, but we should never hesitate to pray over the smallest of things. And Training Camp has taught me this. It really goes to show how much our squad really cares for one another and nothing is ever too insignificant for God.
So bottom line: Training camp was amazing.
This week challenged all of us mentally, physically, and spiritually as we got the chance to experience things we have never done or seen before. The stories we heard from alumni being on the field were so intriguing and enlightening. I want to share some of the challenges and obstacles we went through, but I don't want to ruin it for future racers who blog stalk (sorry about that). I will say though that everyday we glorified God and really stepped out of our personal space. Everyday we continuously lifted up prayers, we opened up to our pasts, and our squad showed love for one another even though we were still strangers.
Oh yeah! Our squad won Squad Wars! That was pretty neat.

I know I've said this so many times, but it really means so much. I want to thank my supporters for helping me reach my first deadline. It really has been a blessing to have made it and experience a camp like no other. I want to thank my supporters for their prayers and thoughts as well. No prayer ever went unheard.
My current goal is to try and reach $11,000 before launch in the first week of September. That is a few weeks away. It is completely possible with God by our side.
