Look at that view! How gorgeous is that? I feel like I live in a little Shire (Sorry we’ve been kind of watching Lord of the Rings here a lot recently), but it feels like such a blessing to have that be our home for the next month.
This month we are in a very small country town called Palacaguina, Nicaragua. We are actually settled in at a local church that was helped established by a church in Spartanburg, South Carolina. That’s only an hour from home! Crazy stuff.
During this month so far, we’ve been working with a nearby church to help establish a future site by clearing out the area. We’ve also had the opportunity to spend time with the youth this past Saturday by going on an outing to a nearby waterfall, where we swam, sang worship, and basically just had an opportunity to get to hang out with the kids.
Everyday we spend in Palacaguina, I feel myself growing a greater appreciation for the small, simple things the town has to offer.
You don’t see people driving cars too often. A lot of the people ride bikes.
People freely leave their doors open because Palacaguina is one of the safest towns in Nicaragua.
People sit and relax on their front door steps and almost always greet you as you walk by.
We always have kids come to the church and wave at us through the window to get us to come play.
The unbelievable types of juice our meal host has to offer.
You can climb to the top of any hill and it will take your breath away.
If you would like to pray for us, pray God will help us reach out to everyone in the area, especially the youth, and He will help keep us in good health. Thanks for reading!
