"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners" -Isaiah 61:1

Last month besides doing construction and manual labor, the men of L squad and I were blessed with the privilege of experiencing the other aspect of SHE Ministries.  On two different occasions we were privileged enough to travel to Patong, Thailand.

Patong is a city about an hour away from where we were working, and is home to hundreds of bars and “massage” parlors. We spent two nights going to Patong and walking up and down one of the busiest streets. A street lined with bar after bar where women are sold to men. The sites and sounds of the bars and women being objectified reminded me a lot of Las Vegas, but only worse.

This was one of the darkest places I have ever been and it tears me apart to see the thousands of people who are desperately looking for instant gratification to fill the void in their life, that is caused by not having a Savior. We were blessed to be able to go to one of the darkest places in Thailand and pray over the place and talk to anyone who would listen.

Check out the video made by my brother Johnny of the experience as well as from another racer:
