“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor."
– Luke 4: 18-19

I just spent the last week at training camp for the World Race at Tocca Falls College in Georgia, meeting the other sixty some awesome people that I will be going with on this journey. If I had to describe this week in one word that word would have to be LIFECHANGING. The week was spent eating foods from various countries we will be going to, creating a community among the squad, and sleeping in tents and even on a school bus! The three biggest aspects of this week, that will be shared in the part II and part III blogs, were the change I experienced in my own life, creating an unbreakable bond with the other men on my squad, and meeting the team I will be serving with.

I went into this week feeling like I was a strong Christian. After several services and talks with my squad I realized that potentially I had become very stagnant in my walk with The Lord. At one evening service we talked about the Holy Spirit coming onto the disciples and asked the Holy Spirit to come into us. As, the worship band began to play; I prayed for the Lord to use me and to have the Holy Spirit come into me. I then began to weep uncontrollably, while at the same time laughing hysterically. I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit come onto me and break all the chains and doubts that had been holding me back in my walk with Him. I felt such a feeling of peace and happiness towards life and my decision to go on the World Race. Several brothers in my squad came and prayed for me saying to just let go of the burdens and thanked the Lord for what I was experiencing. As, we continued to worship that night; I honestly have never felt so close to heaven then in that moment Click on the video below to experience the worship service.

After leaving the service, I had a whole new outlook on life and felt like for the first time I was truly walking with the Spirit. This led me to experience several more amazing things that week. Two things that I was always skeptical was the power of healing and prophetic speaking. This week I experienced so many healings including a girl who had a fractured foot and torn tendons in her ankle, get up and dance after being prayed over. I also experienced so many people, including myself giving prophetic encouragement to others from the Lord, making me a firm believer that anything is possible in the Lord.
