Lately, Jesus has been teaching me about wonder – about never losing it and being awestruck by Him. He’s been teaching me to be present in every second and opening my eyes to His beauty – the beauty of His people, His creation, His heart for me, and His heart for this world. My prayer is that I would spend my whole life with my jaw dropped and eyes wide open, without ever taking His beauty for granted.
I see His beauty in the kids I teach English to each day – in their smiles and laughter, in their warm hugs and funny handshakes, in their whispers as they say, “Teacha, play a game?” with a spark in their eyes.

I see His beauty as we weed the garden of Auntie Pom, a local friend from the beach, with her seashells dangling in the wind and tropical plants sprouting up everywhere. I see it in her smile and in the way she welcomes us in as though we had been friends for a lifetime.

I see His beauty on the long bike rides through Khok Kloi, on random roads full of perfectly planted rubber trees that remind me of Narnia, tall and elegant swaying in the breeze, just waiting for someone to dance among them.

I see His beauty in the back of a pickup truck, as we try to breathe in our surroundings of sky and mountains and smells and sounds.

I see His beauty in the local market, in the man that sells chicken nuggets every night and in the stranger with dimples who helped me figure out how to use a bike stand.

I see His beauty in our ministry hosts, in the content spirit they carry and their desire to deeply love and appreciate each person and thing around them.

I see His beauty in a soft breeze that takes away the heat for a moment and in the rain showers that patter on our windowsills.

I see His beauty in the ocean, spreading as far as I can see, making me realize that’s what His love looks like – endless and absolutely beautiful.

I see His beauty in so many things, too many to count, and I stand in wonder of it all, speechless.
And as I stand in wonder, my soul craves to know the creator.
The creator who showers us with so many of these blessings – a sunrise in the morning, the stars at night, a world full of color, and an endless amount of places to explore.
He didn’t have to create it that way. But He did. Simply because He loves us. Wow.
May we never lose our wonder!!!
