I am tired of living somebody elses dream and I am on the brink of embarking on my own dream:
My name is Clara Miles, I am 24 years old. I was born in a small town called Stutterheim, located in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
I was raised in a wonderful Christian home and committed to a deeper relationship with God after I finished High School.
The change that God brought into my life gave me a hunger to reach young people who had no hope.
After school I was a student at the Uniting Christian Student Association of South Africa. During these years I was trained as a adventure facilitator and got my qualifications in hard skills such as: absailing, rock climbing, high and low ropes and mountaineering.
During that time I went on various long term outreaches into Africa and Bosnia.
In Bosnia we exposed the church towards adventure camps and experiential learning.
This was a great tool to minister cross-culturally.
I am still involved in the Church of Bosnia I Herzegovina.
After these three years I worked as an adventure facilitator at a ministry called Drostersberg Outdoor Ministries. This was a new chapter in my life which was a very challenging time that made me grow closer to God. One of the things I learned was that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. During my time in Drostersberg Outdoor Ministries I returned to Bosnia for a 4 month outreach program.
The past 2 years I worked as a manager of an export table grapes and citrus farm. This farm is called Dasdrif and is situated in the Boland area of the Western Cape. This was a physical hard working environment. I started a Bible study group among the woman that were labourers on the farm. Through the Bible study the Gospel of John became alive to me because I had to teach these woman the way Jesus thought through parables. This was a great experience and I learned a lot.
Psalm 32:7-9
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will
counsel you and watch over you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.
My biggest dream?
Mark 12:28
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and second is this: Love your neighbour as yourself. There is no command greater than these.
This is my biggest dream!
My dream is: To see as many countries as possible and to be exposed to their culture. I want to rock climb in as many countries as possible. I want to summit Mont Blanc. I want to live my life to the fullest – to the Glory of God.
Why the World Race?
Who will tell them? Who will tell the world that God reigns? Who will tell them that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life?
Matt. 9:37-38
Then he said to his disciples, ”
The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore to send out workers into his harvest field.
God has asked me to go and I have chosen to be obedient.
