Panajachel; I would like to share with you where it all started.
Upon our arrival in San Pedro, Guatemala our team needed to spend time waiting to hear from God as to where He wanted us to minister. After a day in prayer we experienced God’s call to Panajachel with the scripture Isaiah 52:11-12.
“Depart, depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure, you who carry the vessels of the Lord. But you will not leave in haste or go in flight; for the Lord will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard.”
Arriving in Panajachel, Guatemala we realized that there were so many needs that the $200 we had been blessed with and wanted to sow into the lives of these families was not enough. These families had lost everything in a recent flood.
In faith, we posted information on our website and prayed that God would bless the people of Panajachel.
God’s people responded with more than $1,200 in a few days via the website. These gifts enabled us to help all 10 families of Panajachel. We built 4 houses, 2 longdrops, fixed 2 roofs, provided beds, stoves, etc. This was a miracle! God knew the needs of the people of these people before we arrived.
I got to know many of the people of Panajachel and will continue to pray for them: Heimie and his family, Ouma Theresa, Maria and her family, and many more. When I close my eyes at night I still see the beautiful colors of the markets, the friendly people of Panajachel and the sunset behind the volcano.
