San Juan is awesome city.  It’s beautiful – mainly because it’s Caribbean and the weather has been amazing!  My team is working in a village on the opposite side of San Juan than we are staying so we get to get our exercise walking for about 45 minutes there and 45 back every day!

Our ministry has been pretty good so far- we are really trying to build relationships with the people in the community.  Everyone is really receptive to just hang out.  I think partly because we are white and partly because people are just crazy hospitable here.  During the day we are trying to just be in constant prayer of the community.  I think this week we are going to have two people prayer walking at all times during our time there while others of us are just getting to know people and love on them.  In the evenings we are running the church service.  Please pray for our team unity and for the community to be receptive to us and that the language barrier doesn’t hinder us too much!
Also pray over our relationships with two girl specifically.  Rosie is 14 and lives in a house with a ton of people (4 generations live in the house and she’s the fourth…).  She comes to church every night and is really sweet.  I think that she has been coming before we got there too.  One comment that she made to a girl on my team was that she wasn’t as pretty as we are because of the color of her skin.  Please pray that we can really just show her the love of Christ and that she can find her worth in Him.  And also pray her protection from the norm here.  In the norm, she could be having a baby soon.  Also pray for her auny Wendy.  She’s 19 and she has a 2 year old little boy and is 7 months pregnant.  Her little boy is the cutest things I’ve ever seen.  I’ll put pictures up of all of them soon.  I don’t think that Wendy normally comes to the church, but we’ve just been really loving on her.  She painted all of our nails and it was just a fun bonding time!  🙂  We are going to  out with them next Saturday with a girl translator.   So hopefully we can really dive into those things next weekend with her. I’ll let you guys know when to be praying for that conversation!
Love you and can’t wait to let you know where God shows up in the next few weeks. He’s already stirring and it’s so great!
