Why Missions?
As my relationship with the Lord has deepened, my desire to share His name has grown. He’s brought me joy, healing, strength, a new perspective and identity, hope for the future, freedom from the chains of my past, and so much more! My biggest wish for people is that they’d get to experience these tremendous blessings and, more than anything, have a relationship with Jesus.
Over the past four years, every doctor I went to told me I’d probably never be able to have my own kids. I felt broken and unlovable, but God used this time to plant a seed in my heart for orphans. This seed for orphans and missions was intensified when I got to travel to Africa and Guatemala to hang out in villages and schools with kids and orphans who were starved for hope and longed to be loved. Seeing these kids so broken stirred my heart for global missions.
Why the World Race?
Last year, God re-arranged my priorities and nudged me to step out and serve Him more boldly than I was. I prayed for months about where God wanted me to be. When my mom told me about the World Race, I knew it was a God idea. The World Race merges five of my all-time favorite things – Jesus, service, community. The World Race excites me because I get to embark on a journey with all my favorite things AND I get to grow closer to God while finding out who God wants me to be. I am confident that through this God will expose me to new cultures and ways of living and will allow me to build life-long and life-giving relationships with my team, the people we serve, and also my supporters here. I am so excited for God to challenge me in new ways and teach me more about myself and Him. Strangely enough, I am also excited to be vulnerable and uncomfortable for God because I know He will use this time to breathe life into my squad and me and make a huge impact in people’s lives!
Please pray that God would equip and prepare my heart and my squad members’ hearts, so that we can make His name known and share His love and hope with people in the States and overseas!
