Grief and loss are sensitive topics that people usually shy away from talking about. In this blog, I am going to share a little of my family’s testimony from this past year, and also explain why I packed a shirt on the race to only wear one day a month.
This time last year, my family was swooning over my sister Sarah’s pregnancy announcement. Our excitement was radiant and we couldn’t wait to meet little baby C. My sister lives in Norfolk, England along with all of my mom’s side of the family. We usually make a trip to visit them every other year and Christmas 2017 was going to be spent on the other side of the pond.
I was so honored to take my sister’s maternity photos that winter! They were honestly some of the best photos that I have ever taken.

February 17th, 2018 was the day that my first little niece, Eliza Jane Chapman, was stillborn. We have grown closer as a family through this loss but words cannot describe the amount of pain and devastation that my family has experienced.
My sister and brother-in-law have shown such generosity and love through this time. They have hosted fundraising runs, supported local businesses that help with baby loss awareness, and have gotten to touch so many lives with their story.

And that is now my goal, too: to bring this story with me and share the love of Christ even through unexplainable tragedy.
I brought my Eliza shirt along with me on the Race to wear on the 17th of every month to support my niece and my sister, to share their story, and to raise awareness for baby loss.
