Hello reader!

I’m excited that you’re visiting my blog to learn more about the story the Lord is telling through me! You might know me well enough to write this section. But just in case we’re new friends, here is a little of my story and a few fun facts to get to know me a little better.

I grew up on a ranch in eastern Oklahoma; we raise cattle and horses. I love ranch life and all the hard work that goes along with it. I was raised in the church and came to know Christ at the age of 11, but I was a senior in high school before I really began to fall in love with the Lord. I am currently a senior at Oklahoma State University and graduating with a degree in Animal Science in May. Go Pokes!

I began college with my life “figured out” and with big plans of going to veterinary school. I decided I knew where I was going and if opportunities were available, the Lord probably wanted me to pursue it. Not too far into college, God began dismantling all of the plans I was making.

To make a long story a little shorter, college has been a season of learning to walk in obedience, surrender to the Lord, and discovering the joy to be found in the middle of that.

Here are a few little fun facts:

I am a daughter and a sister.

My “family” is a giant conglomeration of my immediate family, extended family, and a collection of sweet friends who might as well be.

In the last four years, I’ve gotten to do life in several wonderful groups of community.

They’re my people. I’m looking forward to fellow Racers becoming my people too.

I know its cliché, but Pride and Prejudice is my favorite movie (the Kiera Knightly version).

I like food. If I were to pick favorites, chicken fried steak with rice and gravy, blueberry cake donuts, fresh homegrown tomatoes, and a good steak would probably top the list.

I grew up on a ranch. Feeding cows puts me in my happy place.

Give me some ice and a straw and I can spit ice like its a sport. That’s probably the only sport I’m good at…

I have a long list of little sayings in my vocabulary. I don’t know what the proper term is for them. Most people call them “Claireisms”.

Fall might be my favorite season. Sweatshirts and flannels make up a large part of my wardrobe.

I hate spiders, like deadly scared of ’em.

I believe the more pillows there are on a bed, the better it is.

Quality time is my love language.

Reading is one of my very favorite things to do, but I don’t get to do it often.

Baking is probably one of my best stress relievers. And that’s how I made friends when I lived in the dorm.

I’m a planner. I like to have a plan, so I know what’s coming next, how I can be prepared, and how best to get where I’m going. That’ll definitely be a growing area on the Race!

I am so excited about this season of preparation and going on the Race! And I’m excited that you’re here too!

In Christ’s love,

Claire
