One of my favorite things we did in Haiti! What an incredible blessing to be able to serve the boys who wander the streets shining shoes to raise money for food or to support their families. This day we had the incredible opportunity to show these boys that they were more than shoe shiners, they are precious children of God.
I will never forget this incredible family and their amazing hospitality opening their home to us for the month. We truly became a part of their family and couldn't have imagined a better way to begin our race. Month 1 WR Comendador, DR!
There is truly no place like Haiti anywhere else in the world that I have seen thus far. What an incredible growing month for us all to get real and raw and learn through the trials that we all faced in this dark country. The Lord showed up in mighty ways and continued to remind us that there was a light growing in the darkness and that VICTORY had already been won!
It was so hard to say goodbye to these incredible men that were always there for us no matter the trials that we faced we felt so supported and truly like part of the community. We had someone to pray with us, take care of us, get angry with us, cry with us, find joy with us, and praise with us.
2 months down and one to go. I know these are only a few pictures, but it truly has been an amazing couple of months. We continue to learn, grow, be challenged, and feel incredibly blessed beyond words! God is so good!
