Hey Everyone! God has blessed me with the amazing opportunity to go a journey for His Kingdom. I will be going with a group of about 55 or so people to Thailand, Malaysia, Ecuador, and Costa Rica and I am beyond excited! I want to share with you all a little bit of why I am doing this.
Let’s start from the beginning. Before I had heard about the World Race Gap Year, I was feeling as though I had no purpose in anything I was doing. I had experienced the so called “college experience” and after a semester, decided that’s not where I was suppose to be. I then tried a community college and working part time, but still didn’t feel I was doing anything important or working towards anything. I felt stagnant or like there was no point to what I was doing.
I started researching and looking at mission trips, gap year programs, traveling, etc. trying to find something to do to take a break from the routine of wake up, go to class, go to work, go to bed, repeat. That’s when I came across the World Race Gap Year.
I started researching more in depth about what the World Race is all about and the more I read, the more I felt at peace about it. It seemed to just line up exactly with what I want to do. After a lot of prayer, fasting, and talking it over with friends and family, I sent in my application and was accepted. I will be living out of a backpack, traveling the world, and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ for 9 months!
God has opened the door for me in many ways, first off, He has provided me with two jobs where I not only earn money, but also can learn how to work with my hands. He has also provided me with the time to do this. I have no plans after this spring semester, and no idea what I want to do with my life, so why not go on a 9 month mission trip. God has also provided with support from all my friends and family. Every time I question if this is what I am supposed to be doing, they are always there to encourage me. Most importantly, God has filled me with peace about this trip, and I feel I have a purpose and something to work towards.
I am asking for prayer for myself and my team that we will trust God, and allow Him to do His will in our lives. Thank you all who are taking the time to read my post and please subscribe to my blog page so you can receive updates on the trip and how things are going over seas! Thank you for your prayers!
