5.18.2016 update: It has come to my attention that this blog post has had over 6200 views and counting. If you are interested, I still have a few smalls and mediums left in blue and pink and can reorder larger sizes if enough people are interested. Just use the link on the left to contact me!

Honestly, I never thought that I would ever willingly put my face on a shirt. And certainly in no way that I ever thought I would try to SELL them.

Inspired by a friend who had his face on posters for a competition in college, I thought it would be funny to do something similar, so I put my face on a flyer. And I awkwardly posted them all around town. I later started to pray about a t-shirt design and vocalized my struggles; it was then that I got several comments about keeping the same face I had used in my flyers. Suuuure, I thought.

I came back from training camp excited about the newfound confidence that He had given me. Boldness was emphasized time and time again that week, and I can sense that it will be an underlying theme for the rest of my life. I knew my t-shirt needed convey that message.

It’s about living bold. It’s about trusting God and taking risks for His name and His glory. It doesn’t have to involve quitting your job, giving up your place of residence, and traveling the world to love others and spread the Gospel. And I’m not talking about risks that involve dangerous activities that could end your life if something went seriously wrong (though I MAY totally skydive again if I ever had the chance).

Living boldly can happen anywhere. It’s about stepping out of your comfort zone to do His work wherever He’s put you. That could look like choosing to mentor a child when you are terrified of kids. You might find that you actually enjoy it. You might not. Either way, that kid might finally experience what it means to have a caring individual in their life–one that models our Father’s love. Or it could be about being a good steward of this Earth He created by going out to clean up a neighborhood or plant trees when all you want to do is sleep in and watch movies all day.

My face on a shirt is completely outside of my comfort zone and is oh-so appropriate for the message it’s conveying about living boldly. It’s hopefully a shirt that will raise a lot of curiosity and questions and bring up great conversations about living a more intentional life for God. So without further ado…

With the help of Fund the Nations, I’m selling these for $20 (+$5 shipping for those not in the Kalamazoo/Ann Arbor areas). If I sell at least 75 shirts, I will get $10 for every shirt sold. My goal is 100 shirts (if you read my blog post title, 1000 would be ideal!), so please spread the word–friends, family, co-workers, acquaintances, Redditors and other online communities, etc. I have a FB event where you can invite friends 😉

If you are interested in buying a shirt, please fill out this form before November 24 (preferably right after you read this!).

If you don’t have $20 to give but would still like to help out, tomorrow is 11/11–not only Veterans’ Day but also World Race Day. Many racers are asking people to consider donating $11, so I’m going to go ahead and jump on that bandwagon and go even further to say on 11:11:11 (AM and PM…all the time zones :p).

As always, thanks for reading. Have a beautiful night!
