The time is quickly dwindling here in Cambodia, and I wanted to share a little bit about our ministry. This has been my favorite month. I am teaching English at New Hope School in the Battambang District; it’s very close to where my dad grew up in ThmorKol. In this country where about 1% of the population is Christian, the school focuses on teaching English to give kids a better future while spreading the love of Jesus Christ.

The people do not have many resources and am still extremely passionate about what they do. The teachers dedicate their lives to learning and teaching. The children are ridiculously sweet and shower me with hugs and gifts every single day. That’s not an exaggeration. Bracelets. Flowers. Candy. Drinks. More flowers. Paper birds and frogs. More flowers. Vegetables. More flowers. I wear flowers in my hair pretty much every day. It would be impossible not to fall in love with the people here.

My team would love to leave the ministry with a gift. They are in need of funds to keep the school open, and within this next week, we would like to raise enough to keep it open for another month (and praying that God will take care of all of it and beyond!). I will write more about my time here later but please go to my team leader’s blog to learn more, share, and find out how to support this ministry. As always, thanks for reading!
