A few of my squad mates wrote Psalms as part of a creative worship session the other day and it inspired me. It inspired me a lot more than I realized for this morning as soon as I woke up, I had this on my heart. It was so great to write and I thought I'd share, so maybe it will inspire you to do the same. Enjoy 🙂

My Psalm

Jesus, Lord you are my hope and comfort,

My soul finds rest in you alone.

Even through the terrors of the night,

I will seek your face,

For you are the only one I fear.

Lord show me more of your presence,

For I long to be next to you.

My heart cries out for you day and night.

You are the only love I need,

The only one I desire.

Oh God of the heavens

Thank you for delighting in me!

I see your face night after night in the skies

You show off for me,

Showing me your glory in the stars,

Speaking to me in ways only I understand.

Thank you for bringing me out of complete darkness,

Into the glory of your night.

You have opened my eyes and my heart to your great love,

How it encompasses me!

No matter what I do

You hold onto me with such gentleness.

Like a beautiful wildflower on a hill,

You see me radiant.

Like a diamond sparkling bright

I shine for you,

Shining bright in your light.

All of my days may I sing for you,

Singing songs of your love,

Leading others to your cross.

Thank you for making me your bride,

For you alone do I wait.

Clothed in the blood of you,

As white as the snow for you.

Lord I know you feel my every emotion,

You know the cries and groans of my heart as I wait.

Thank you Lord for holding me close,

In joys or fears, you are near me.

Thank you for sending me out.

As one sends a letter to those he loves,

So you have sent me.

I will love those you love,

With all the tenderness and compassion you have shown me,

I will also show.

With you by my side,

I will be a mother to the orphan,

And a friend to the widow.

In your name I will love and serve the least of these.

Until the day of your return,

I will eagerly serve you my Lord,

My Beloved.
