It’s awesome how God
interweaves every part of our lives to grow us into the people He
wants us to be and bless us as His children, just because He loves
us. This has been most recently evident in my life in learning about
prayer. One of my best friends from home whom I mentioned in a blog a
while back, Lindsay, and I both felt challenged this past year to
grow in the discipline of intercessory prayer, so we decided to both
buy and read a book on this topic over this year that we are apart.
The first couple of chapters in the book talk about how God has given
mankind dominion over the earth and are the instruments through which
He releases His power and love on earth. As I have been learning
about this in theory, God has also been giving me opportunities for
practical application of the concepts I am learning. My teammates and
I have begun each day before camp with declarations, which are
statements about God’s truths in the Bible that we claim for our
lives, and then prayer with the YWAM staff. We have prayed for good
weather this week and for God to work through us to minister to the
kids, that they would experience His love and truth by the Spirit
working through us, that they might be forever changed by God’s love.
As the day of camp ended today, it was as if I felt the Holy Spirit
tap me on the shoulder and say, “Look, I’ve heard and am answering
your prayers from this week. The weather has been wonderful, we
are seeing some breakthroughs with the kids, and there is a spirit of
love that transcends this earth that definitely is hovering over us
and present among us as we are with the kids. This realization
brought a smile to my face and my heart!

For
the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to
show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him…
