I noticed something very interesting in the mall in Phuket, Thailand.

Bread.

And it wasn't the bread that painted my perspective of "something is not quite right here," but rather it was the birds that flew back and forth from the bread to a sign just over a Coldstone Creamery type ice cream kiosk.

I got to thinking…
A bird's gotta eat.

With the additional thought of…
A bird's gotta poop.

Q: And just where do birds poop?
A: Wherever it feels like pooping.

In this case, it was a kisosk full of freshly baked bread…complete with freshly laid…well, you get the picture.

Did I ACTUALLY see the poo on the bread? Not at all. I didn't look that closely, but it's a given.
ANIMAL+FOOD=POOP

Were those birds doing something wrong? Not at all. A bird's gotta eat remember. They were being what God created them to be…birds.

So what does this have to do with me you may ask…or better yet…what does it have to do with you?
Well it goes a little like this…

What has God created you to be?
A photographer? A teacher? A truck driver? A lawyer? An interior designer?

God created us as individuals. God didn't sit his arse on a copy machine and make us all to be a bunch of arses. He put thought and detail into each of us…INDIVIDUALLY. He said, "I want Charles Morris Jr. to have 93,278 strands of strawberry blonde hair." And that's just what He did for me. I'm not positive on the hair count…just positive He put that much effort into creating ME.

God puts that much effort into everyone.

If God cares that much for the birds, how much more does He care about us…

Sometimes we follow OUR passions, OUR dreams, OUR emotions, rather than depending on HIS guidance, HIS example, or HIS calling. Where does this end us up? False identity.

So bird crap on biscuits is somehow connected to identity? ABSOLUTELY!!

If a bird is a bird, then what is a man but a man!

If a bluejay is a bluejay, then what is a Christian but a Christian!

So the type of bird can't be changed. Once a bluejay, always a bluejay.

But wait!? I wasn't born a Christian! I was born into sin as the Bible says. Does that mean I'm always a sinner?

NO WAY!! You weren't born a sinner…you just had sin attached to your life…like a mite attached to a bird. The bird isn't a mite because it has mites. It's a bird with mites.

When we were born, we were born as sons and daughters of God!

That sin-nature we are all born with is already paid for in full by the blood of Jesus Christ.

If a bird could take a bath with soap and shampoo then it wouldn't have mites.

If a man could take a bath with forgiveness of sin-debt then he wouldn't have sin.

We WERE NEVER…ARE NEVER…NOR WILL EVER….be "sinners saved by grace."

THAT is one of the biggest identity crisis man has had for generations and generations.

We are sons and daughters of the Creator and Sustainer of life…Abba Father…God.
We are heirs to the throne.
We are His beloved.

Psalm 91:4 "He will cover you with his feathers,

    and under his wings you will find refuge;

his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."

Hey God…If you're a bird, I'm a bird.
Love you papa!!
