Newsflash I’m in Nepal! Yes, to answer your question, I did see Mt. Everest and it was so thrilling. A couple of squad mates and I took a plane ride across the Himalayas and there it was, the highest point on earth. It was very symbolic because there I was, staring at the top of world. The Lord is a grand artist full of wondrous ideas for this spectacular planet. The pollution here, however, is a downer because Kathmandu is basically just a big valley surrounded by many mountains but you can’t see them because of the smog. Houses/buildings have strong characteristics with terraces, brick, and laundry drying out on the rooftops. I am quite fond of this city and the kind people who live here.
Ministry looks different everyday which I admire. Tuesday we did “prophetic doodling” which is where The Lord just leads us in drawing something, it can be anything. Afterwards we left on a walk to the slums to find what we drew and give the paper to that person. On our walk to the slums I saw a woman sitting in front of a shop, she caught my eye. I decided to go speak to her and ask her if she needed prayer. My friend/translator told me that she was a Christian and had pain in her leg and arm. A few team mates and I prayed over her asking The Holy Spirit to pour Himself over her, healing her from the top of her head to the soles of her feet. When we said Amen there were tears in her eyes. Lissie then realized that she had a card for her. After giving it to her I as well remembered a picture I had drawn that was just for her. The woman said she felt light and at peace. She went on a told us that the night before she had a dream that people came and prayed for her. The Lord is so cool and just provided right in the opportune time. Every day I walk by her shop I end up praying for her/having a conversation with her.
Despite my terrible and embarrassing artistic skills, God was able to use me to show this woman Jesus’ love and miraculous image. Currently, I am learning to keep my mind present and my heart joyful.
“You are constantly looking for a purpose in life when it’s right in front of you, in the present. You are living your purpose right now, stop waiting for it.” -God
