Hello friends and family,

I FINALLY GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL!! Praise The Lamb. When I first started high school I heard many a time, “don’t worry, you’ll be done before you know it.” I can honestly say that it seemed like the longest process to take place… EVER. The day of graduation, I had just put on my cap and gown when it clicked that these four years were actually coming to a close. I started panicking a little because of thoughts of “adulting,” less dependence on parents, and how my life is going to turn out 5-10 years from now. However, now that I am out of panic mode, I see that I do not need to worry about those things because God’s got me.

Most people my age would be preparing this summer for freshmen year of college, but as for me, I will be preparing my heart and mind for the World Race. I will be preparing my heart by spending more time growing my relationships with God and people… mostly God. I would like to thrive in being a kinder individual while learning to be an improved servant. “Patience is a virtue” is something I hear a lot, but it is also a fruit of the Spirit and I feel like I need to cultivate that fruit.

I will be preparing mentally by getting in the correct mind set. I would like to acknowledge that I am not doing this for myself. My ultimate goal is not to travel, adventure, or take a picture with an elephant, but to make a spiritual impact on every person my team and I encounter leading them closer to the cross. Being a missionary means getting out of your comfort zone. There will be many times when I will miss home, my bed, smooth roads, and the safety of America in comparison to the places I will be going. But I am not going for myself, I am going because God wants me to help bring His children to Him. Honestly, the risk of getting malaria scares me a lot. But these are the kinds of risks that missionaries encounter. No matter what God is going to be with me every step of the way. His calling is greater than the fears I will face. And the fears I will face are less than my God.

I would love it if you all would pray: for the cultures of Swaziland, Lesotho, India, Nepal, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. For the hearts and minds of my team and I. For safety and health. For many seeds to be planted and watered.

To go on this trip I have to fund raise the money myself and I would be very blessed if you all could help me achieve that. I would like to get all of the funds necessary before September. If you feel lead, you can donate by going to my blog christymcpherson.theworldrace.org and do it by card. Or if you would like to give with cash or check just contact me. Please consider it:-) God Bless

Much Love,

Christy McPherson
