Within our teams of 6 we have been given roles to hold. These rolls will help in serving and making the team stronger as a whole. We learned in a session last night that we are all leaders, yet we are all followers. There will be times when each of us are called to take our specific role/strength and lead the rest of the group with it. There will then be other times when someone else will step up and use their specific gifts/talents to lead the group. With this we will all be leaders as well as followers. The team won’t work and will not be able to fulfill its purpose unless we are all willing to put that into practice.
My role within my team will be the “Story Teller”. With this role I will help in the processing and checking in with the other 5 members of my team. I will sit and talk with them making sure that they are able to wrap their heads around the things that we encounter, both good and bad. I will then encourage them to write about these experiences in their blogs and/or in journals. It is so important in helping people process what they are going through, especially since for us it ill be so much all at once. It is also a great way to keep all of you at home up to date and involved in what we are doing.
As a little preview of my squad and my role on it I wanted to show a little snip it of the wonderful people God has placed in my path for (at least) the next year!
