full of color, beauty, smiles, and pure laughter
baking with women around the world
tying a little boys shoes
dancing in the rain in the middle of anywhere
changing diapers and tucking babies in for naptime
singing “Yes Jesus loves me” with a three-year-old
telling a Chinese grandpa “Wo ai ni ye-ye” and seeing his toothless smile + clapping response
naming a newborn baby in an African village and speaking into their destiny
picnics with the people you love on a sunshiny day
a long embrace that shows you treasure someone
the rhythm the blind man plays on the corner with his drum
moments that take your breath away
standing in the middle of a village – listening to everyone sing with all their might
soda-pop on a Haitian mountainside after building someone a house
eating beans n’ rice for the 50th time – it was a gift, all someone had
candle-light church services, even when the power’s out
hugging a prostitute and shaking hands with a pimp
buying icecream for a pregnant woman that works way too many hours on her feet selling flesh
holding an orphan as they fall asleep on your chest
singing lullabies to kiddos to soothe the atmosphere
watching a movie crammed on a couch with 6 of your teammates just because
watching ‘little man’ sleep and wake up smiling, excited to see you
handing a rose to the lady hiding in the alley – and proclaiming her beauty
watching the sunset over the ocean with your teammates as lightning hangs in the distance
learning to waltz in the dark
playing baseball in the middle of a San Juan ghetto street
throwing snowballs near a river in China and making the bystanders laugh hysterically
dancing with women who’ve never known freedom
watching someone come alive in Christ
giving when you have nothing else to bless someone who needs more than you…
