The Great WALL of CHINA…

Towering man-made structure. Full of history…built on the backs, sweat, and lives of it’s people.
Sacrifice. The pursuit of power. Walled in. Establishing boundaries.

Cresting the tops of magnificent mountains…this rocky, stone structure bares the signs of age and ware.

Though sections of it still stand – and catch its visitors in wonder…there are breaking points.
The wall exists no more as one solid unit, but rather, small portions…divided.
“A nation/house divide against itself cannot stand…”

Though many have traversed this world wonder of the centuries…to many it is but a bleak memory.

 We believe freedom is coming to this nation as spiritual walls are broken down…
and the God who made these magnificent mountains busts loose in the hearts of His lost,
imprisoned, broken, and in many ways forgotten children.
The God who speaks with thunder + lighting, whose voice shakes the MOUNTAINS…
He is coming to redeem this nation…to awaken His children!

“The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is majestic.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars…
The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning.
The voice of the Lord shakes the desert…
The voice of the Lord twists the oaks, and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, “GLORY!!!”
The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
the Lord is enthroned as King forever.
The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace.”
(excerpts from Psalm 29)

During our time in Beijing…our squad spent some time at the Great Wall adventuring.
Here are a few additional photos of the fun times we had:

No matter how long the journey…don’t forget to pack light and bring along those you love, in your heart!

Sunshine…a cool breeze….hiking the Great Wall. Done!

As we crested one section of the wall, I looked over at Lucas and mentioned that we needed to take
a “Team Hind’s Feet” picture for fun. Kayla, Aubrie, Lucas, and myself all agreed this was a good choice, when Jeremy came over the hill and joined us. Hum…5/6…where was Shawndell? We quickly spotted her, one section ahead of us climbing step after step. No one hesitated. “SHAWNDELL!!!!!!!” we all began to yell.
Turning around, she made a face that affirmed how crazy we were…
“COME BACK! WE HAVE TO TAKE A HIND’S FEET PICTURE! YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE WE NEED!”
She shook her head, throwing her hands up in the air. We all laughed.
“Do you guys really think she’ll come back? She’s pretty far up there.”
“SHE’LL COME BACK!” We unanimously agreed…
This is the moment Stacey captured when we lost it laughing because Shawndell turned to come back!

Our mission was complete…Hind’s Feet team photo minus 1: Britt Letsinger.

When in China…on the Great Wall…Kung-fu is a must.
“Because these girls were kung-fu-fighting…yes they were fast as lightning!”

Climbing the Great Wall and need some energy boost? Grab a snickers!
(We’d packed these away the night before our journey…it was hard to wait until the top to enjoy!)
