This week we celebrated a great Thai New Year tradition- Songkran.
To sum it up best, it’s easily the most epic water festival I’ve ever seen/heard of/been a part of.
(these are just a few moments captured with the aid of a borrowed water-proof camera.)

As is tradition every afternoon before taking to the streets by night…we prayer walk.
Tuesday afternoon we headed to Patong – expecting to get wet, but complete un-armed.

Kids ran about everywhere with water soakers + sprinklers…ice water filled buckets down the entire street.

This guy was showing us the art of spraying yourself in the face.
I guess he felt left out of the water onslaught taking place on the rest of the street.

This little girl had a plastic book-bag tank full of water…and sprayed people as they walked by giggling!

Bangla Road was outlined with salespeople selling water guns…it was absolute madness/fun!

People stood along the side of the road squirting one another and laughing like children.

This little girl was chasing her dad down the street…

We knew it would be a different night of ministry.
I made sure not to leave the house un-armed.

The necessary before shot.

The unexpected after shot.
Two guys who clearly hadn’t gotten their fill on the main road decided to ambush us while taking this photo.
It was perfect timing and a great strategy. We were sitting ducks, just smiling for a photo.

The Abundant LIFE BREATHERS enjoyed a night of ambushing random strangers on the street….
and sharing God’s joy with our friends at the various bars.

Wednesday the festival activities spread to our area of town.
We loaded into the trucks, along with trashcans full of water, and went to celebrate.
Some local Thai ladies dancing in the street to commemorate the New Year.

Some people were highly-creative in rigging up their water contraptions.

Just about anything that could hold water did. Buckets, vases, bottles, cups, bowls, guns…
People even brought out the garden hoses.

Falco sat on her bucket the entirety of the trip…and got a little stuck on the way home.
