Every Saturday they pile into vans from all over the city.
Come rain or come shine – there’s always room for one more to ride.
It’s a time to get away from home – a time to eat some food – a time to learn about Jesus.
Big ones. Small ones. Mommas and special guests.
Everyone comes out…even just to take a rest.
Giggles. Laughter.
Team cheers and great shouts fill the air.
Wherever you look someone is creating or constructing.
Babies, Toddlers, Teenagers and beyond…
AWANA calls the people of Malaybalay to chase after God.
Lots and lots of dancing…this little one is a pro.
With the coaxing of her teacher…she gave everyone a show!
Tell them they are beautiful, and they’ll smile for years to come.
Tell them how God loves them and they’ll come to know Him young!
Memory verses recited with care, everyone watches, trying not to stare.
God’s truth is alive here, there’s no denying that.
Every boy and every girl just keeps coming back!
Since this program started, they’ve multiplied substantially.
Joyful smiles can be seen all around.
On Saturdays I can’t count one single frown.
Dining on porridge…this little one watches her friends.
God always provides just enough for all to eat.
All tummies left full…and the staff celebrate!
“This is the best food ever” they often exclaim…
and those are the days we’re most tempted to complain.
God keeps providing…Mt. Moriah is never left without.
Keep on trusting, don’t even think to doubt!
God is faithful – He is loyal through and through.
God made each one of these little ones, and He even made you!
So put a smile on your face…you’ve got lots to be thankful for.
Where most of us come from…there’s always plenty more.
These are my girls…they’re beautiful through and through.
Together we declare our identity as Christ’s daughters.
We remind one another of the beauty God made us with.
High school — college aged, these girls are brilliant, successful, and driven.
Pray for them, they have lots of decisions to make, every day!
Bright green bandannas, let’s eat some bananas.
Sometimes the small ones get tuckered out…
It’s an honor to watch my P-squad brothers show Fatherly love to these kiddos every week.
Puppet shows are always a highlight.
They bring messages full of color, life, and fun voices kids love to celebrate!
This little one couldn’t get close enough…
she lingered there for a good while before getting bored and moving on.
While sometimes one could justifiably compare these weekly meeting to the circus…
God is using this ministry to move in the hearts of the youth in this city.
He is using this ministry to weekly grow and stretch the faith of Mt. Moriah staff and program leaders.
God continues to multiply the number of kids that show up.
What started as a “small” gathering for a selected group of kiddos has expanded beyond belief.
Mothers with infants come to be fed spiritually.
Deaf people come with the hopes that someone will be able to communicate the gospel to them.
These people are hungry for the gospel.
Every week more and more kids pile into those vans…and show up ready to be taught.
The vans start picking up kids 30 minutes before the program…
they pick up the last run of kids about 1 hour before the program is finished
…just in time to take the first groups home again!
It’s a privilege to be a part of this ministry – and all we do is show up and spend time with the kids.
We sing silly songs, and dance.
Most of the time we get laughed at – but that’s being Light.
That’s being God’s love.
That’s Kingdom!
