I’d just finished speaking and took my seat.
I saw here there watching intently, feeding her little one with care.
A beauty painted her face that drew my heart to know and understand her.
“She’s a great mom,” I heard the Lord whisper, “I want you to tell her that.”

As she readjusted her baby who was now done nursing, she smiled.
I quickly realized this little girl was the same one I’d met the night before.
She was a beautiful baby full of the JOY of the Lord, no more than 3-5 months old.
She’d giggled at my silly faces all through the service as a village girl held her.
Her charisma caught my attention and I longed to hold her.

I knew as I watched the mother worship with this little one, when the Lord said,
”I want you to talk to her after this service” that I needed to.

I hunted someone down to translate while people boxed me out receiving tracks. I knew I needed to hurry and catch her before she left. She was getting away quickly when I finally broke through the crowd of people, I grabbed Mertin, one of our African friends and we rushed across the field, through the soccer game to catch her. As we caught her attention, she turned and smiled. Her mother (the grandmother) was walking with her.

I shared with her what the Lord had told me, and as I did, He told me more about this woman and her daughter. It was not a mistake that she was the mother of this little girl. God chose her specifically to raise this little girl – and because she, even as an infant carries the joy of the Lord – the mother should remember every time that she looks at her that ‘the joy of the Lord is our strength’ – that “God is her strength!” She lit up as these statements were translated into her language. After some small talk, we exchanged names. Her name was Patricia – and ironically enough, the little baby’s name was MIRACLE.  Patricia has two other children, both boys, and roughly around the age of 8-10.  We laughed together about the Lord’s goodness as His JOY settled in all around us.

I got to pray a blessing over Miracle and her mother and thanked God that He chose this Momma to raise her specifically, that this little Miracle has Kingdom purpose and destiny prepared for her life. God has set her apart in Malawi to release His joy and Kingdom throughout the Binoni village…and I got to be a part of a small glimmer of her story. Thank you Jesus!

Love, love from Malawi!
