(our youth friends in Varnsdorf the night we met them…)

1.    When people talk about having more than one sheep, they say they have sheeps.

2.    Public transportation is exceptionally sketchy/nonexistent on Sunday’s.
3.    There is an entire aisle at the Tesco devoted to chocolate.

4.    When people don’t want to make a decision or definitive statement about something – they simply pass on the responsibility by using the simple phrase, “It is upon you!”

5.    Calzone with spinach + artichoke at the bowling ally down the street.
6.    If people say they are a Christian – they are – it’s not a common thing here…(pray for hearts to change!)
7.    Old ladies laughing when you shout, “Ahoy” with a giant smile across the street.

8.    Their alphabet is so complex – even natives have a hard time speaking it before the age of six – and kiddos have their own vocabulary set to articulate their thoughts.

9.    Czech people are very serious about warm feet + catching colds. House shoes or stocking feet are a must.
10.   Gypsy dances the kids at the Sluknov center (my buddy David in particular) each week.
11.   Everyone dances and seems to love hip-hop…but people rarely wave or smile on the go.

12.   Their bakeries and mounds of fresh bread for only 1 Kc.
13.   The sweet CZ stickers they have on the back of their cars! (I’m now the owner of 2…stickers, not cars!)
