My time at training camp has been an
experience of which absolutely cannot be conveyed by words alone, yet I want
you to grasp how amazing it truly has been. I will begin with the fact that I
have definitely embraced the reality of being continuously sweaty amidst people
I do not know thanks to our glorious weather in the South. However, these
people are no longer people I do not know, because in 6 days and counting,
these 60+ people have become my family. We have formed bonds I didn’t even know
existed and which only are made possible by the hands of God. Just as families
do, we have been through experiences which have brought us closer. We have been
broken down and built back up, encountered the presence of the Holy Spirit in
ways we never have before, worshipped for hours upon hours, declared truths,
experienced true freedom, had our eyes opened to harsh realities, worshipped in
a rainstorm, eaten some strange things in strange ways, and ultimately have become dead to sin and alive in Christ. It has been an emotional, spiritual, and physical roller coaster which we have halted right in the middle of God’s will. I could go on
for days about the things we have done here, but I will spare you of that!
Those of you who know me know I love
people, and people of all kinds. These people are different though. This
environment is different. For the first time in my life I feel as if I am
exactly where I am supposed to be with the exact people I am supposed to be
with. Let’s not forget that my squad, “S Squad” is the largest in World Race
history. Not only are we the largest squad, but the WR staff says there is
truly something different about us . . that we, the S-Squad, are the catalysts of the World Race. There is no doubt in my mind we were
called to be here and will be used in great ways this upcoming year. God
will use us because we are willing to go where He goes, we are willing to say
what He says, and we are willing to pray what He prays. Are you willing to do these things? If so, there is no difference in us in comparison to you! We are humbled by the fact
that God has called us together as a body to be used as His hands and feet in
this way.
Why in the world would God choose
these 60+ people from my generation to bring change to the World? That we will
never know, but we do know it is going to happen. His people are longing for
someone to bring the attributes of God to them. The widows and orphans need to
feel His love, those enslaved in sex trafficking need to experience His hope,
persons infected with HIV/Aids need His healing, and millions upon millions
here in America as well as around the World need to hear the Gospel. I am
confident there will be a revival amongst the nations. My new mindset believes
this and I trust it with every part of me.
Crazy awesome things have happened,
and it is only going to get crazier. I have learned to have no expectations,
because God has better and bigger plans than we ever could dream. On the first night, we illustrated an exchange of our expectations by putting our “mark” AKA our thumbprints on the World (see picture above). I know I can never be the same after this experience, but I am okay with that. My reliance on the Lord
is greater than ever and I cannot wait for October. I hope you feel the same
way.
