While in Cambodia this past month, I fell in love with the kids. I had an extremely hard time saying good-bye! I still feel as if a part of my heart was left with these boys.
As I left, several of the boys handed me notes that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
Over the month I was reminded that ministry is what you make it. You really do get out what you put into the ministry. If you put your heart into what you do, it’s amazing what ‘rewards’ you’ll receive.
Being with these boys morning, noon and night didn’t even feel like ministry to me. It felt like spending time with family. I looked forward to being with them. By the end, I didn’t have to entertain them; I didn’t have to have projects for them to do; I could just sit with them and be.
These boys stole my heart!
