Here’s an update for all my supporters out there. In the past few weeks i’ve been knocking out the to-do list in preparation for leaving the country. We’re talking power of attorney, eye doctor, dentist, vaccinations, buying this, ordering that, and all the while still support raising. It can all be a little overwhelming. I usually remind myself that “this too shall pass” when the stress factor starts to creep in. Life just keeps moving along after all doesn’t it?
So i wanna give a shout out to the Infectious Disease Resource Group that so kindly injected my body with FIVE different vaccinations, only one of which is required to leave the United States…they said it’s better save than sorry. My arms have an entirely different opinion on the matter…I really think this picture sums up my thoughts on the topic.
But like i mentioned earlier….the stress from all the details that go into preparing for an 11 month mission trip…the pain from several shots….this too shall pass. It will all be a distant memory once on the mission field. I’m mindful of the passage in First Thessalonians 5:18 where Christ followers are charged with “giving thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God…” As humans, our lives are inconsistent….we ourselves are inconsistent…..our relationship with Christ and praise to him, however, should not. He’s our constant. While it is difficult at times (especially being able to thank God for something that is physically painful) I believe it is something that is attainable.
…Thanks to all those who are supporting me. I hope you’re as ready as I am to get started on this adventure. Mark your calendar and start your countdown….because January 5th is fast approaching.
