Imagine the scene in a movie of a church that is shining bright on a hill that shows the light to all. The only light in the scene. It sits on a hill it is next door to a place where people still practice their own religion. Where they perform animal sacrifice on a regular basis.
Well now that you have that in your mind. Well that is like the church that pastor David. Is planting, it sits only a minute walk from a cemetery that quiche people still practice their native religion. It sits on a hill where it is sounded by non-believers. People that pray to their ancestors not to a God that can heal there pain.
This church is a beautiful place it is a light to the rest it is going to make a huge difference. I got the great honor to work on the second floor of the building that is going to be a computer room and will be used to teach English, and to teach kids around about Christ.
I have really struggled with all this I have an immense respect for other cultures. But on the other side of the coin I see the pain. My heart breaks that they pray to a god that cannot answer. Please join me in praying for the quiche people to understand that God is the only answer to life. He is the provider the one that can fix it all. I know feel that they can have portions of their culture that will not be against God. But it is the heart that must change not the actions. For the posture of a heart decides many of the actions.
