There once was a guy who went on the World Race and then he came back and then the next season was upon; him he was home for 3 weeks then gone for 2 then home for 2. Then he drove east out on the ride that was repeat  of a ride that he had done for the first time over a year ago, while heading to training camp and then again just a few short weeks ago to attend Project Search Light (the World Race wrap up event). But this time it was different, much different; he was by himself but that wasn’t the only thing different.

His car was loaded all the way to the brim with stuff, not the kinda of stuff he had on the race but the kind of stuff that he took to college, but this time it wasn’t to college he was headed, no, not at all. The thought of going back to college still was in his mind, but that wasn’t what the Lord was calling him to in this season. For God was calling him to continue to live the crazy life that he was on.

He was heading to Georgia, the state not the country. He was moving to Georgia, going to live in community and to be part of the Center for Global Action, the discipleship school that is a part of Adventures in Missions.

Well That story is mine, I’m sitting here writing this from Gainesville, Georgia, thinking about the whirl wind that brought me here. It started shortly after I got back home from the race. I realized I needed to find my own vibrant close community and that it would not be in Monett, MO, but was ‘out there somewhere.’ When I came down to project search light, and started to think about it more and more; what WAS next? What began to come clear at project search light was that I needed to be in a discipleship school. The Lord was opening doors and here it came, the  big opportunity; CGA here at AIM, that was the next step. But, it was only 2 weeks away, could I really go home for that brief time and then move to GA. Well, while still at project search light,  I had conversations with a member of AIM staff about going long term with them, and it looks like that might be a possibility in the future and that part of that is to just be here and get discipled and to work with people here to possibly set up a base in the future. Where that would be is uncertain at the present time, but where ever God calls me is where I will go.

So that’s what is going on in my life, I am at discipleship school planning on going long term with AIM or where ever God opens doors, I simply want to serve him where he wants me.

God has me on this crazy journey that is so different than I thought it would be even a few months ago let alone a few years ago.
