When we finally splashed back into America, we were excited, tired and ready to see God move stateside. Kenya was seared in my mind. Children lost their lives in that mud slide and it constantly echoed in the deep places of my heart that this was a people who couldn’t be easily forgotten.

We rolled up our sleeves and got to work and Sweet Aroma began forming.

We laugh alot, dream a ton and try new things constantly. We’re new to this wondrous world of coffee and we’re learning as fast as we can. It’s funny how God takes an  idea and makes it a passion. He’s created this deep desire in us to bring others along side in the dream.

It’s wild and it’s fun.

Sometimes we sleep, but not a lot.

These days we are taking the coffee shop atmosphere- complete with vintage furniture- to people and businesses all over Knoxville and surrounding areas. We serve drip, hand pours, Chemex and hot chocolate. We’ve met an astounding amount of flippin awesome folks as we share our vision for Sweet Aroma and our heart for Kenya in hopes that others will join our dream and help us start a coffee house in Africa.

Eventually, our heart is to have a coffee shop that’s a stand alone store and are fervently praying for funds so this dream can become a reality.

In the meantime, The Father has opened up some pretty awesome doors. We have the privilege of taking our antique dressers, tables and coffee fixin’s to Love War on Tuesday nights. This is hosted by the United Pursuit Band and boy, does the Spirit move. It’s been awesome and downright incredible watching God restore and dance through the people’s hearts. And we’re starting to serve at a rockin church called Antioch Community and we’re pumped about what Jesus is doing there too! So come see us if you’re in the area and we’ll hook ya up with some fancy brews.
