I was a little lazy this weekend and didn’t update anyone, except those few people I called, on the prayer request I had posted a couple of days ago.
WE GOT TEMPORARY CUSTODY OF KALEB!!!

I can not tell you how relieved I am!!! I got a call from my mom Friday morning about 11:30 or so. I was headed to lunch with two other ladies from work, and they said when I got out of the car they could already tell I was a totally different person. It felt like this huge weight had just been lifted off of my shoulders. I wasn’t stressed anymore, and I’m finally at peace with this whole mess.
Michael did show up with a lawyer, so a drug and DNA test was ordered while he was still at the court. My dad said the judge was not real impressed with Michael’s lack of actions and child support these past two years. This is what our lawyer was expecting and wanting. He wanted to go in order and take these little baby steps. We would have liked for this to be over and done with a while ago, but baby steps are good…and besides, our entire family is more at ease with being awarded temporary custody. I’ll be sure and keep you posted if anything new develops.
