"So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so taht when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For, "In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay."" -Hebrews 10:35-37

Yesterday, was probably one of the hardest hikes I have ever had to do. It was a solid 4 or so hours of hiking through the Amazon rain forest and it was not an easy task. It was muddy, unstable, and some parts super steep. I got my foot stuck in the mud several times and slipped and fell as well. In the end though, we saw 2 waterfalls (1 in wich we actually got to swim in) and a cave. I was soaked through and through with sweat and felt completely drained of energy and yet with the help of team/squad mates and God´s grace I was able to make it through. Mark also shared with us Galatians 6:9-10 yesterday and it was so good.

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."

We have lived fairly comfortably here in Ecuador despite the bugs and long hard days and I am reminded constantly of not letting the hard stuff get the better of me, but instead to perservere, to choose joy, to continue to fight the good fight and run the race strong.

It is going to be sad leaving in a couple of days, but the memories created will last a lifetime. Thank you God, for your blessings and for the time you have given me here.

"For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone." -James 1:11-13
