So what are we doing this month? Well this month I am in a village near Coban Guatemala. It is located near the Mexican boarder. We are living in a beautiful location – the side of the mountain in the middle of the jungle!
From the village center it's about a 20 minute hike up the mountain to where we are staying. We are living with the local pastor who is a father of 9 kids from ages 20-about 18 months. So it's been exciting to live with them and 13 of us (teams ZEROH and ROAR).
We are teaching english, PE, and working on a garden on Wednesdays and Fridays. Tuesdays, Thrusdsys, Saturdays, & Sundays we have church with some of the villagers. The pastor has asked us to dig out part of the mountain behind the church, however it's been raining and cold most days. It's to dangerous for us to dig when the ground is wet because it could cause a landslide.
We have had lots of time getting to know the family and even some of the locals. Some of the kids come runni g to us when they see us, others are still bashful, and the teachers will wave to us when they see us downtown in Coban. Our time here has been nice.
