In Africa our ministry has been door to door. Last month it was going to people's homes. This month it's going to businesses. We go to share a small word with them and ask if they need or want prayer for anything. The typical requests are for peace in the family, money (for school and/or jobs), and health (mostly healing from malaria). We do this day in and day out. The only thing that seems to happen after we pray is that they thank us for coming and we get more and more tired as the day goes on.
We don't see people get healed. We don't see businesses booming. We don't see people's school fees being paid. So during one of these days this month I asked God "What's the point?" What's the point of doing this when we don't see anything changing? Why don't we se anything but when we read the Bible things seem to happen instantly? Why should I keep doing this?
Thankfully the Lord decided to answer me in that moment and I'm also thankful that I was listening. He simply told me "Just have faith". Then He brought back to mind what someone told me 6 months before the race started. I was told that we would be doing a lot of healing but to have faith because most of the healing would happen after we left. God reminded me that just because we don't see anything doesn't mean that He's not working. Just have faith. Besides the very definition of faith means to be certain of things we cannot see.
Just. Have. Faith.
