The second week of ministry was similar and yet different than the first week. The similarities: We dug for large rocks, we moved rocks, and we formed some kind of rock wall. The differences: rather than digging for rocks in dirt, it was horse poop and mud, rather than building a rock wall along a fence – we built a dam, rather than just stacking the rocks on top of each other we had to cover it with the poop mud, and rather than digging up shale rocks, we dug up granite rocks (which are much heavier and sharper).
We were building the dam for Teresa(?) because she is wanting to start a Tilapia farm. She plans to sell the fish to help provide an income for the families in the area that don’t make anything. Teresa is a no-nonsense woman who doesn’t give in to any form of corruption and it not afraid to talk down to and report any corrupt cops (as we discovered one day when we were pulled over b/c the cops wanted $).
Back to building the dam, you would think that after our experience from the first week that we would be pros. Well…sort of. Like I said above, we were working in mud and working with larger and heavier rocks. This week was harder but still fun. My team Z.E.R.O.H. worked with team Love Story and we made sure to have fun hulling rocks and slinging the poop mud (yes I was a mud/poop slinger one day). We would have interesting conversations, play games, sing, and dance. It was great that we all tried to have such a positive attitude because we were all tired of hulling rocks and slipping and sliding in the mud.
We worked for 4 days but I worked for only 3. Some of you may have heard that I was fighting a cold that week and that my meds was not working. So on the last day (Thursday) I stayed behind to sleep. Thanks to everyone’s prayers I started feeling better! I still have a cold but it is nowhere as bad as it was. PTL!
I could still use your prayers because I still have a cold but no more meds. There are also people on my team and squad who are sick and got hurt. Thank you for your prayers! Keep them coming!
