Here I am on the World Race! We have made it to Honduras! So how was our first travel day you ask? Well, if you don’t know World Race travel days are…interesting…and long. However I think that this was the quickest and easiest travel day that we will have on the race. Thursday Jan. 10th we finished our launch and headed to Dulles Airport at about 10pm eastern time. Our goal that night: Sleep in the airport (or at least try). A few slept, a few tried (I tried), and others played worship music, danced, drank coffee, talked, etc.
At about 4:45am we started to get out tickets and check our bags. Our flight left at 6am to Miami! I’m not one to sleep on planes but I slept on that one. We had about an hour and a half layover. We flew out of Miami a bit after 11am to Honduras!
We arrived in Honduras at 12pm central time where our contact met us and helped us get our bags on the bus. We had about 20-30 minute drive from the airport to Zion’s Gate where all of O squad is serving this month! So as you can see, an easy travel day and that may be the shortest on the race.
