Inside the ChaletI woke up and wasn’t sure why, but no matter what I did to try to go back to sleep, I was just wide awake. I started to pray for the village especially since I had found out that day that there were witchdoctors in the community. Soon after, I heard another one of the world racers wake up. Karen from Team 12:18 told me that she had woke up that night because she felt as if she had to pray for the community.

Sunset in the Jungle
Another night I had a dream about going into the bushes outside the back of the church and in my dream, I saw demon sitting there. Miranda, who has the gift of spiritual discernment, shared a story about how she was outside and saw shadows cast in the back of the church, but there was nothing casting the shadows. She tried to make what she thought was her own shadow move, but twice it didn’t move when she moved. Finally, the third time when she moved, it began to move with her. Having seen angels and demons from childhood, she knew that there was an evil presence there. Emily actually saw a demon standing in the trees outside the front of the church and prayed. That evening, Margie woke up and went outside because she couldn’t sleep. In the same area where Emily had seen the demon (and Emily had not told anyone about her sighting yet) was where Margie sensed angels and demons battling there. She prayed that night for the Orang Asli community and for the kingdom of God. The next morning, Emily woke up and saw that the demon was gone and that there were dead leaves around the trees where it had been.

God used several outlets to communicate to the different people on our teams about the spiritual warfare in that community. Although we had different shifts to pray for the community from 7am to 7pm, God was waking us at night to pray for the community as well. The spiritual battle never rests and the victory belongs to those who pray.
