We are about 3 hours from Greece so my teammates and I decided that we would go visit on a weekend that we were off. We would need to take a taxi to the car rental place and drive from Macedonia to Greece. We met a taxi driver who actually spoke English when a lot of them speak Macedonian and Albanian. We gave him the address to the car rental place, but it was actually the wrong place. He drove us to the correct location, gave us two cd’s to listen to on our drive to Greece, purchased us a map from the store so we wouldn’t get lost, directed us to the freeway from our rented out car and he got off before we got on it to walk back to his taxi. He was incredibly nice throughout the ride as he talked to our group about his life and as we shared our own. He mentioned that although he was a Muslim, he enjoyed going to a Christian church and has been going every week for a while now (except that he stopped two months ago because he was too busy). Today, he decided to come with us and he is developing a good relationship with our contacts here in Macedonia. He was such an amazing guy and we would’ve never arrived in Greece without God and his help!
