Out of all the teams on my squad, my team (Team Malachi) along with Team 12:18 got picked to go to the jungles of Malaysia. It was our first preference, but that did not guarantee that we would’ve ended up here. Upon arriving to Malaysia, we discovered that our contact, Peter, had read every single one of our blogs and had been praying for which teams be to be place where. We were ultimately picked for the jungle. It so happens that my team and Team 12:18 were two of the only teams out of the eleven teams in the Philippines that had adopted a community of our own to serve, where we had visited homes and ran a feeding program for the kids. That experience last month was necessary to prepare us for where we were to be this month.
In the jungle, we have adopted a village and are teaching English to the children, doing home visits to share encouragement from the Scriptures, and building housing (huts) in the community. Although I am uncertain of the exact reason for why my team was placed here, I can be confident in the fact that we were placed here with purpose. Because we were picked among so many and had the experienced that prepared us, I believe that we were orchestrated for the jungle.
