How God heals is not what I expected. I had always thought that if God were to heal someone, that it would happen in an instant and that it would happen permenantly. God had already healed me of deep emotional pain that I had experienced in the past. It happened in an instant and has been gone permenantly so it was natural for me to think that i would be healed of my physical inhibitions that day.

I wasn’t in pain anymore after I received the prayer for healing. No coughing nor sneezing, nor skipping, nor jumping would send sharp pains down my spine. 24 hours later though, it was a different story. I started to feel some pain, then more pain. I was so disappointed that I was healed for a day. I was filled with doubt.

Sometimes physical healing will happen in an instant and be permenant (see Jessica Week’s experience: http://jessicarietveld.theworldrace.org/?filename=training-camp-healed), but other times in the prayer for healing, there is partial healing for the moment. Healing may be a process for you as it was for me. Like a broken vase, some of my cracks were restored and wounds were mended, but there is still more work. I rely on my potter to restore the clay. My hope for the tomorrows of the tomorrow is ultimately complete restoration.

I was healed that day. I asked for it. He answered. I proclaim it. I claim it. I was healed, am being healed, and will be healed.
